Delticom surpasses projections for the second quarter 2001

5 times more turnover than during the same time period last year

Hanover, 26.07.01 The Hanover-based tyre trader Delticom AG has once again increased its turnover, surpassing own projections. At the press conference, held in the beginning of June, the company expected a four-fold increase in revenue for the second quarter of 2001. Results show that the turnover has in fact increased five-fold, increasing by 220 percent from 2 million DM (1 million Euro) last year to 10.6 million DM (5.4 million Euro) in the current financial year. "These positive results confirm our business idea", said Managing Director Rainer Binder (43), commenting on the positive development of the company. On the second of July, Delticom celebrated its second anniversary since being founded in 1999.

Two thirds - 7.2 million DM (3.7 Euro) - of the revenue generated between April and June 2001 were earned in international wholesale trade, one third - 3.4 million DM (1.7 million Euro) - using the online business. In addition to the turnover of 6 million DM (3.1 million Euro) for the first quarter of 2001, Delticom has a turnover of 16.5 million DM (8.5 million Euro) for the first half of 2001. This positive trend is the result of a more than satisfying summer tyre season for Delticom.

For the year 2001, Delticom is expecting a total turnover of at least 30 million DM. "The figures for the first six months of the current business year show, that we have set ourselves a realistic goal, which can be reached", explained Dr Andreas Pruefer (38), Managing Director, Delticom AG.
