More than 100 million test kilometers

Hannover, the 01.04.2004. Delticom`s tyre test site, www.tyretest.com has the record of 100 million test kilometers . On this Website motorists report their personal tyre experiences; so far there are more than 4.000 test entries "www.tyretest.com has turned into the all-year-round personal adviser for tyre purchases", says Delticom director Andreas Prüfer. Scientific,objective test results are provided by auto magazines such as the ADAC motorguide or the Autobild, available at the beginning of each summer and winter tyre season,that is in March and October.

In the summer of 2000, the tyre dealer from Hannover made this an independent consumption platform for the evaluation of tyres on the Internet for normal driving traffic. The "testpilots" are motorists who test the tyres in everyday life. "Apart from the official tyre test reports we wanted to create a platform where drivers themselves could exchange opinions on their experiences with certain tyres", says Rainer Binder, also on Delticom`s board of directors and adds: "This we have achieved very well now!".

Someone who cannot decide upon what tyre to purchase can compare the opinions made on the tyres he is thinking of buying. One can find the desired tyre sorted either by summer, winter or all-season tyre, passenger car or van tyre as well as all-terrain tyres in all brands and profiles. The criteria of the tyre tests are grip and braking qualities in dry and wet conditions, grip in snow, comfort, internal and external noise as well as tread wear. The size of the tested tyre as well as the kilometers driven are also taken into cosideration. In the end, the testers are also asked to say whether they would buy the same tyre again or not. "An average is made from all the opinions and a mark is given to the tyre in the end, which is meant to help one orientate himself when comparing tyres", Binder explains.
